 Tadelakt really is a very special Lime, woodpit burned and dry-slacked in the surroundings of Marrakesh, Marokko. Fa. LEEMWERK only works with this original Tadelakt.
The word Tadelakt actually means the specific polishing of this lime with a soap, made of olive oil, and a polished Stone. This polishing is what gives the original Tadelakt the typical deep glazy, cloudy colour effects.
Straight from the Kiln the Tadelakt is an off white material, and traditionally delivered in beige and ochre colours. We make almost any colour by using tested mineral/umbra pigments.
Original Tadelakt is pretty waterproof and so it may be an alternative for tiles in the bathroom or kitchen (except for the shower itself, bathtubs or floors).
